ABOUT PISA

Pisa is famous all over the world for its Leaning Tower which dominates and exalts the wonderful Piazza dei Miracoli.
During the construction, the water-bearing stratum subsided and provoked the inclination that made this tower so famous and symbol of this town.
Pisa has a very interesting history, very powerful since around 1400, one of the four Maritime Republic.
Pisa is a real treasure with its roman and gothic churches, its squares and palaces that give splendour to the old streets and to the districts along the Arno River.
The Pisan coast is an important natural protected park, a wide green area, including Macchia di Migliarino and Tenuta di San Rossore (San Rossore Estate). Noteworthy Certosa di Calci, San Giuliano Terme and Cascina, a medieval little town.
